HI Expands Access to Pump System Training Resources

The Hydraulic Institute (HI) announces the availability of its HI Pump Systems Matter (PSM) Basic Training platform to non-member organizations. Now, engineering, maintenance, and other professionals across industries can gain access to critical insights to boost reliability, optimize efficiency, save energy, and reduce costs of pump systems. Companies can subscribe to the platform as a general planning resource or utilize the webinars and other tools for the training, development, or on-boarding of its professionals.

“Pumps are the prolific drivers of most necessities and their performance can make or break the functions of water lines, heating and cooling systems, processing operations, and more,” said Michael Michaud, Executive Director, Hydraulic Institute said. “As the workforce shifts, it’s vital that education and training be available in the marketplace. Whether a municipality, public utility, or a pump system distributor, it is so important to empower decision-makers across industries to learn and assert the latest best practices in building their systems.”

The PSM Basic Training webinars and materials impart key fundamentals on a variety of pump types and potential design challenges including selecting a pump test acceptance grade, bearing isolators, expansion joints, mechanical seals, induction motors, variable frequency drives, variable speed pumping, flow modeling, U.S. DOE Conservation Standard, and much more.

Offered as an annual subscription platform, the program’s pricing structure is based on the organization’s number of users. Additional information, including a complete list of subjects covered can be found on the Basic Training website or by contacting Matthew Derner, Manager, Business Development, Pump System Programs, mderner@pumps.org.
