Graco Launches ChemSafe ™ Diaphragm Family for Corrosive Abrasive Chemical Applications

Graco Inc. (NYSE:GGG) announced today that it is introducing the new ChemSafe family of air-operated double diaphragm PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) and UHMWPE (ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene) pumps. Featuring a leak-free design and corrosion-resistant fluid paths, ChemSafe pumps are ideal for chemical and abrasive applications like acid and solvent transfer, ceramic finishing, electroplating, printing inks, slurries and wastewater treatment.

Other pump features include an icing-resistant air system for stall-free operation, overmolded diaphragms which can last up to five times longer than standard diaphragms and a positive seat-check assembly that improves pump performance and suction life while reducing maintenance.

“Our ChemSafe pumps also have a dual force, tie bolt design that creates a leak-free, precision seal which is resistant to the effects of cold flow,”said Graco’s Michael Sandlin, Process Marketing Manager. “All of these features can save time and money, increase plant safety, and reduce workplace hazards caused by leaky pumps.”

ChemSafe pumps are available in five sizes, from 1/4 inch (6.3 mm) to 1.5 inches (38.1 mm), and have flow rates up to 85 gpm (322 lpm). The pumps are dead-head capable, plus they minimize air consumption and operational noise which helps to reduce energy consumption and operator fatigue.

Graco’s pumps provide process solutions for numerous abrasive and corrosive applications and are built for years of reliable service. For more information about the ChemSafe family, please visit www.graco.com/chemsafe or contact your local Graco distributor.
