Fluid Sealing Association Appoints Public Relations Manager

The Fluid Sealing Association (FSA) announced the appointment of Charli K. Matthews, Founder and President of Empowering Pumps, LLC, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to their newly created Public Relations Manager position.

This position was created to help craft the public voice of the FSA as it continues to take a position as the leading trade association that is recognized and accepted as a Subject matter expert and technical leader that advocates and influences environmental compliance to create and raise standards in technology, safety, quality, and best practices for sealing devices and associated products. And one that Educates in the correct adoption of technology and practices and is a key collaborator with organizations that influence and direct the development of key standards that directly impact the users of sealing devices.

“Public Relations is a strategic communication process that builds mutually beneficial relationships between an organization, its partners, and the public. So it is my role as Public Relations Manager to help craft our public voice and spread information between the FSA, its targeted audiences, as well as into the public area,” said Charli K. Matthews.

“This new role is key to the continued growth and recognition of the FSA in the public arena and we are excited that Charli agreed to take on the responsibility. This is especially important in light of the support and advocacy being provided by the FSA and its member companies with regards to the significant amount of activity that is occurring in the regulatory space at this time. Ensuring our public message is clear and concise is extremely important for the FSA,” said Mike Shorts, FSA President.

In addition to this new role, Charli has been responsible for developing the FSA’s social media presence, and was the driving force behind the development and redesign of the FSA’s new website.  She was responsible for the expansion of the website’s content and making it a more valuable resource for the industry, as well as improving the ease of use for the FSA’s members’ customers. In 2015, Charli was recognized by the FSA with the awarding of their prestigious Award of Merit.

Founded in 1933, the FLUID SEALING ASSOCIATION® (FSA) is an international trade association. Member companies are involved in the production and marketing of a wide range of fluid sealing devices primarily targeted to the industrial market. FSA membership includes companies in Europe and Central and South America, but is most heavily concentrated in North America. FSA members account for a majority of the manufacturing capacity for fluid sealing devices in the Americas market.
