At Empowering Pumps & Equipment, our mission has always been to connect with the people and technologies driving the pump and flow industry forward. During a recent Industry Access visit to Trillium in Fresno, we had the opportunity to witness firsthand the ingenuity, craftsmanship, and scale that make their work so impressive.
Trillium’s facility is home to a remarkable range of pumps and impellers, from small precision components to giant vertical turbine pumps that dominate the shop floor. Walking through the facility, it was impossible not to be struck by the combination of engineering expertise and attention to detail evident in every piece of equipment. The vertical turbine pumps, in particular, showcased the company’s ability to tackle some of the most demanding applications in water, wastewater, and energy industries.
Sustainability is a key focus at Trillium, and it permeates their operations. From energy-efficient designs to thoughtful manufacturing processes, the team is committed to creating solutions that minimize environmental impact while delivering maximum performance. In an industry where efficiency and reliability are critical, Trillium’s approach demonstrates how innovation and responsibility can go hand in hand.
Adding a unique touch to the visit was the location. Trillium sits just outside Sequoia National Park, and during a lunch break, the towering trees offered a moment of reflection. It was a powerful reminder of the parallels between nature and industry: both require patience, resilience, and a long-term vision to thrive. Observing the giant pumps and then the giant sequoias in the same day highlighted how scale and impact, whether engineered or natural, leave a lasting impression.
Charli K. Matthews, CEO of Empowering Pumps & Equipment, shared her thoughts on the visit: “Seeing the incredible engineering at Trillium alongside the giants of Sequoia National Park was inspiring. It reminded me that whether in nature or industry, the things built with care, purpose, and integrity have a lasting impact.”
At EP&E, visits like these are more than just tours; they are opportunities to learn from industry leaders, celebrate innovation, and bring back insights that empower our own team and our customers. Observing the seamless collaboration among Trillium’s engineers, technicians, and support staff reinforced the importance of teamwork in achieving excellence. Every pump, every impeller, and every design decision reflects a commitment to quality that drives the industry forward.
The day at Trillium left a lasting impression. It was a reminder that innovation doesn’t happen in isolation; it’s a blend of skilled people, thoughtful processes, and a vision for a sustainable future. For those of us at EP&E, it reinforced our dedication to connecting with the innovators shaping the pump and equipment industry while championing sustainable solutions that stand the test of time.
