#MFGDay20 is More Important than Ever.
The National Association of Manufacturers is the largest manufacturing association in the United States, representing small and large manufacturers in every industrial sector across the country. Manufacturing employs more than 12.1 million people, contributes $2.36 trillion to the American economy annually, and accounts for 63% of private-sector research and development. The NAM is a powerful voice of the manufacturing community and a leading advocate for a policy agenda that helps manufacturers compete in the global economy – which is why celebrating Manufacturing Day – even if only online – is more important than ever.
The public must continue to see how critical manufacturing is to our country. Facing an unprecedented pandemic, manufacturers have stepped up to produce sanitizer, test kits, personal protective equipment, and a range of other materials to support Americans through this unique period of time. Throughout our nation’s response effort—and during Manufacturing Day in particular—we hope that more young people will see how creators respond when our country needs them most and choose to join in this effort by pursuing a career in modern manufacturing. This is why you are invited to participate in #MFGDay20 on October 2nd, which is really only the start of a month-long celebration.
