Ethanol Sealing Challenges Solved [Webinar]

By: SEPCO

With equipment uptime and operational efficiency a top priority in all industries, ensuring that these are met in ethanol production is paramount. In fact, this may be even more important for the ethanol industry. Effectively sealing evaporator and, ultimately, syrup pumps presents difficult challenges in ethanol production.

This webinar was recorded live on Tuesday, August 18th at 11 am Central it explored the struggles of one ethanol plant engineer who experienced repeat mechanical seal failures. Seal failure analysis was critical in determining WHY the mechanical seals failed prematurely. A new mechanical seal system was the solution for the plant engineer. In this webinar, Terry Roberts, Midwest Regional Manager with SEPCO details the challenging application and how technology solved the problems for the engineer at the U.S.-based ethanol producer.

Some of the difficulties experienced experienced were:

  • Detecting seal failure
  • Seal barrier fluid tank setup
  • Premature failure
