Engineers Week 2023

Engineers play a pivotal role in our everyday lives and they deserve recognition. We are thankful to have many outlets that we use to lift up and showcase all of the amazing engineers in our industry. Engineers Week this year is February 19th through the 25th and the theme is Creating the Future.

The purpose of this year’s theme is to recognize how engineers play a vital role in innovating solutions to global challenges that impact future generations. Engineers are able to create new possibilities that make the world a better place by developing new technologies, products and opportunities. This Engineers Week we hope that you’ll take a moment to recognize and celebrate the work of engineers and engage students in engineering. DiscoverE, the organization behind Engineers Week, has free resources you can use to inspire future innovators, such as hands-on engineering activities and lesson plans, information about engineering education, and pathways to a technical careers.

During #EWeek2023, we invite you to participate. Every individual can make a difference. Consider being a virtual role model through DiscoverE or by being part of our Industry Person of the Week series. The great thing about Engineers Week is that you can participate remotely so that you can meet your personal safety needs, while still making an impact for girls and boys across communities and backgrounds. DiscoverE has also released a Chats with Change Makers series that you won’t want to miss out on!

Use social media to tag and highlight both individuals and companies that are taking action to work directly in/with their communities to introduce the next generation to engineering. Engineering is the key to imagining tomorrow, but we need to take action today. And don’t forget to tag @empoweringpumps in your posts so we can share them!
