New Polymer Material That Improves Sealing of Worn & Aging Industrial Cylinders and Presses from Chesterton

A.W. Chesterton Company is pleased to announce the availability of its new, innovative AWC825 low durometer thermoset polyurethane (EU) technology. This unique material was specifically designed to improve seal performance associated with worn, scored, aged, or pitted heavy-duty industrial cylinders and presses that cannot be reworked due to size, downtime, or cost. Chesterton AWC825 has an 85 Shore A hardness that enables it to conform well to surface irregularities and create a positive seal, which helps to extend cylinder mean time between repair (MTBR). AWC825 is a thermoset material with excellent abrasion and wear resistance that offers improved reliability versus conventional rubber based and polyurethane products and is ideal for use in high reliability applications. The AWC825 is a machinable material which provides the flexibility to manufacture any profile to exact equipment dimensions with no tooling costs and same-day availability from local Chesterton Speedseal ™ manufacturing centers. Its long-term, elastic memory increases sealing preload, which helps to ensure maximum performance even when exposed to low system pressure. About A.W. Chesterton Company Operating in over 100 countries around the world, Chesterton is recognized as a leading provider of knowledge-backed solutions and expert service for Rotary, Stationary, and Fluid Power equipment supported by a comprehensive line of industrial fluid sealing solutions, high-performance protective coatings, and specialty industrial lubrication.
