See the Latest Products and Technology for Optimizing Plant Operations at the 2017 Chem Show this Fall

Chemical process industries (CPI) professionals looking to see and learn about the latest process equipment, products and services to streamline plant operations should join more than 5,000 colleagues at the 2017 Chem Show, being held this October in New York City. The Chem Show is the largest North American event exclusively focused on the processing of fluids, powders and gases, showcasing the latest innovations for the CPI from more than 300 exhibiting companies.

The 2017 Chem Show will be held Oct. 31-Nov. 2, 2017 at the Javits Center in New York City. To register, please visit the Chem Show registration website.

The 2017 Chem Show will feature exhibits and seminars covering the newest trends, products and technologies advancing the CPI’s production quality, efficiency and economic viability. Engineers, plant managers and other CPI professionals can look forward to a vast amount of new information at the Show. Chem Show has published an extensive preview of products to be displayed at the Show. A few highlights include:

Process Equipment and Products.

Several exhibitors will be showing advanced mixers with new features capable of improved performance and higher efficiencies: an adjustable-speed air-motor-driven unit that provides collapsible impellers; a hydrogenation reactor type agitator mixer; a change-can mixer designed to operate under vacuum and with heating or cooling; a corrosion-resistant Teflon-Kynar lined static mixer that can mix acid and aggressive chemicals; and a paddle processor that uses heat transfer for indirect drying, heating, cooling, reacting and pasteurizing.

Process Control, Instruments and Meters.

To fine-tune their plant operations, Show visitors will find the newest, most accurate and dependable instruments and controls on display: a mass flowmeter that delivers measurements of volumetric and mass flow rates, pressure, and temperature indications of process gases; a magnetostrictive float level transmitter with Class I, Division 1 and Class I, Division 2 approvals; and an EtherNet/IP-compatible and ODVA-certified research control valve that provides process systems information and connectivity.

Filtration and Separation Equipment and Products.

For effective and efficient filtration and separation, solutions can be found in the most advanced equipment that will be displayed on the Show floor: a vacuum belt filter for continuous filtration, displacement and counter-current cake washing and drying, convection blowing and pressing, and steaming; a centrifuge designed to separate soft sediment from liquid that features an adjustable impeller and combines the advantages of a separator and decanter; and a vibratory separator that uses a center-mounted motor and a balance-cage weight system to control the vibratory screening motion.

Pumps and Valves.

A mainstay at the Show, the 2017 event will feature several advanced pumps including a positive-displacement rotary lobe pump designed with rotors in a flow-optimized pump casing, combined with a robust carrier and timing gear; an eccentric screw pump capable of transferring thin- to medium-viscosity media, such as acids, oils, creams and foods from mobile containers; and a hermetically-sealed, magnetic-drive industrial pump designed with heavy-duty permanent magnets that transfer torque from the motor shaft to the pump without contact.

Plant Equipment, Maintenance and Miscellaneous Products.

Attendees can look forward to seeing advanced products for communications, automation, IIoT, security and more, including a voice over IP (VoIP) intercom system that provides network communications without the need for a central server; and a software platform that improves communication between a shift teams’ production engineers, maintenance engineers, and plant managers by replacing old spreadsheets and paper-based shift logs with a digital platform.

These are only a small array of the innovations highlighted at the 2017 Chem Show for faster, smarter, cleaner and more efficient processing facilities. For more information including a complete list of exhibitors and seminars and to register, visit chemshow.com.
