The 2015 Chem Show will celebrate its 100th anniversary when 300 companies and specialty manufacturers showcase the industry’s best practices and latest technological advances Nov. 17-19 in at the Javits Center in New York. The Chem Show provides a valuable learning experience for the more than 4,200 anticipated participants, with more than 20 seminars highlighting the newest trends, products and methods of production in the chemical processing industry.
The Chem Show began in 1915 in New York City as a way to stimulate the domestic manufacturing of chemicals and dyes. Since then, it has grown into the main North American event for processing technology, with an emphasis on the optimization of process operations.
The Chem Show delivers direct access to the professionals who make the design and purchasing decisions. For the first time, attendees of this year’s Chem Show will be provided with free admission to all seminars.
Adding to the value of attendance, the seminars will be led by industry experts speaking to the critical issues faced by today’s chemical processing market. Additionally, many of the presenters will link suggested strategies and solutions to the innovative products and services seen on this year’s Chem Show floor.
The 2015 Chem Show’s “best practices” seminars will highlight the industry’s latest and most relevant trends, including 3D printing/additive manufacturing, pollution control modifications for compliance, and loop calibration strategies for chemical plants. Other subjects to be addressed range from wastewater treatment and converting polymer formulations into flowable powders, to wireless and software simulation for pump efficiency and industry networking via social media.
I will present a seminar on Thursday, Nov. 19 from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. (1B03) about using social media to network and connect with industry leaders. Attendees will learn how to create an online profile and connect with industry leaders who are critical to business growth. There will also be a Q&A session to address specific questions about how to gather information or inform an audience using social media tools.

The Chem Show 2015 expects attendees from 45 states and 67 countries, with a high concentration of engineers and plant managers. More than 72 percent of the attendees are involved in the purchasing decision for their companies.
About 28 percent of the total U.S. chemical production happens within 500 miles of the event site in New York, N.Y. There is about $78 billion in chemical production activity in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and the American Chemistry Council anticipates a 3.5 percent yearly projected increase in Northeast chemical-related production through 2023.
According to show management, exhibitions well-align with the Chem Show’s goal to provide key insight into how to accomplish more in less time and with fewer resources, while immersing attendees in hands-on exposure to the latest trends and technological advancements.
