Air Movement and Control Association (AMCA) International Inc. will launch the Air System Engineering and Technology (ASET) series of free webinars on topics impacting air systems in buildings July 31 from noon to 1 p.m. CDT with “Fan Energy Index (FEI)—Changing Our Industry.”
FEI is a new fan-efficiency metric headed for building energy codes and standards, including the 2019 version of ANSI/ASHRAE/IES 90.1, Energy Standard for Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings. It also is a design tool, an indicator of the ability of a fan system (fan, motor, and drive) to serve a duty point efficiently.
Presented by Mark Bublitz, chair of the AMCA Fan Regulation Committee, Tim Mathson, chair of the AMCA Fan Committee, and Michael Ivanovich, AMCA senior director, global affairs, the webinar will provide a technical overview of FEI, cover practical applications of FEI, discuss current regulatory developments and initiatives, and more.
The webinar is worth 1 professional-development hour (PDH) through Registered Continuing Education Program (RCEP).
The webinar is sponsored by Applied Research Laboratories, ebm-papst, Greenheck, Mars Air Systems, PennBarry, and Ventilation & Fan Consulting Service International.
