Almatec ® to Feature BIOCOR Series Pumps at INTERPHEX 2016

Almatec®, part of PSG®, a Dover company and premier manufacturer of sanitary air-operated double-diaphragm (AODD) pumps, is pleased to announce that it will be featuring its BIOCOR Series pumps for sterile applications in Booth No. 2253 at the upcoming INTERPHEX 2016. The INTERPHEX event brings together a wide variety of leaders from the pharmaceutical and biotech industries and will be held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York, NY, USA, from April 26-28.

Almatec BIOCOR Series pumps have been specifically designed for critical biologic fluid transfer applications and meet the strict standards, regulations and operational requirements that govern the biopharmaceutical industry. Featuring a 316L polished stainless steel wetted path, BIOCOR pumps provide superior containment and utilize ball-lifting magnets that can be attached to the pump housing from the outside at the location of the four ball valves. With the use of magnets, the ball valves can be lifted from their seats, allowing the pump to be drained entirely without needing to be disassembled or removed from the application. This enables clean-in-place (CIP) and sanitize-in-place (SIP) capabilities.

BIOCOR Series pumps from Almatec are also equipped with the patented PERSWING P® air-control system, which ensures accurate reversal of the main piston and low noise levels. The suction and discharge ports are offered in a clamp sanitary connection for inlet/outlet, but are available in a variety of sanitary threads, while the diaphragms, ball valves and O-rings are made of PTFE or EPDM. In addition, BIOCOR pumps have earned certifications for hygienic design and cleanability from the EHEDG organization, as well as material compliance as stipulated by the FDA and the European directive EC1935/2004.

Almatec will also display its solid block PTFE E-Series diaphragm pumps. The E-Series pumps are specifically designed for not only permanent applications, but also for single-use applications handling critical and even hazardous biopharmaceutical substances. The E-Series pumps are designed for use in advanced applications where high chemical compatibility and full containment/leak free design are required. Yet, the simplicity of design and operation makes the E-Series safe and economical for even single-use applications without compromising the highest standards. The E-Series also features no mechanical seals, utilizing stainless steel ring technology instead to increase protection from leaks by creating a consistent compression around the ring for higher torque.
