ADT Showcases TURBOdesign® 2013 Pump Initiative at Texas A&M 29th Pump Symposia

Advanced Design Technology (ADT), a global leader in the development of advanced turbomachinery design methods and the TURBOdesign Suite, will exhibit in Booth 1618 at the Texas A&M 29th Pump Symposia, October 1-3, at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston. ADT will showcase its TURBOdesign® 2013 Pump Initiative, which was developed to show participants how to develop breakthrough designs in significantly less time while also reducing computational fluid design (CFD) analysis requirements. In support of the Initiative, ADT will host a free pump design seminar in room 343A of the Hilton Americas Houston from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 2. Pump design engineers and original equipment manufacturers will benefit from the 3D inverse design technology in ADT’s TURBOdesign Suite and from ADT’s TURBOdesign® 2013 Pump Initiative.

“Our 3D inverse design optimization methodology enables truly innovative solutions while reducing development time and costs,” said Mehrdad Zangeneh, PhD., professor of thermofluids at University College London and founder and managing director of ADT. “I will personally present the free TURBOdesign Pump seminar and will outline benefits of the 2013 TURBOdesign Pump Initiative. Furthermore I will show how the application of TURBOdesign Suite has helped many major pump companies to achieve higher efficiency, better cavitation performance and reduction in development and manufacturing costs.”

The ADT TURBOdesign 2013 Pump Initiative is underway and will last through November. It entails a series of free pump design webinars, online hands-on test drives and introductory product pricing. TURBOdesign Suite is the next evolution in turbomachinery design tools.

The design tools available to turbomachinery design engineers have evolved over the past few decades, starting from simple hand drawings and calculations on to calculators, two-dimensional (2D) computer-aided design (CAD), 3D CAD, computer-aided engineering (CAE) & CFD, and finally to 3D inverse design.  TURBOdesign Suite is the only commercially available 3D inverse design software on the market today.

TURBOdesign Suite System Requirements, Availability and Pricing

TURBOdesign Suite runs on Windows systems. It operates on mid-range workstations with 2.4 Ghz or better processors, 2 GB RAM and 1Gb disk space.

The TURBOdesign Suite is now shipping. It is sold in modules starting from $17,000 USD with software training and technical support included. Special ADT TURBOdesign® 2013 Pump Initiative packages are now available.

About Mehrdad Zangeneh

Mehrdad Zangeneh, PhD. and professor of thermofluids at University College London, is founding director and CEO of Advanced Design Technology (ADT). For 26 years, Zangeneh has developed advanced turbomachinery design codes based on the 3D Inverse Design approach and automatic optimization to turbomachinery design. His research has resulted in important breakthroughs in turbomachinery and marine propulsor design, and he has been granted eight international patents. In 2000, Zangeneh was awarded the Japan’s Turbomachinery Society’s Gold Medal, and in 2003 he was awarded the Donald Julius Grone Prize by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers in UK.
