Industry Person of the Week- Kyle Owenby

Meet our Industry Person of the Week, Kyle Owenby, Sales Lead Manager at Continental Pump.

Q: How did you get started working in your field?

Kyle: I started my work career in the automotive industry. after several years in that field I was looking for a change. I was offered an entry level warehouse position at Continental which I accepted. Over the last 11 years I have learned the pump industry along with the Continental business from the ground up. This includes but is not limited to pump assembly, shipping/receiving, painting, applications, technical support, sales, overseeing day to day operations etc…

Q: What do you love the most about your job? What are you most proud of?

Kyle: I think what I love the most is getting to interact with customers from all over the country. Also coming up with solutions to some of the most challenging applications and hearing those success stories of our pumps in operation. I think what I am most proud of is being that contact that our customers think of first when needing a solution in a hurry. Also being part of a team that has the privilege of carrying on Continental’s outstanding legacy.

Q: What advice would you give to someone considering this line of work or new to the field?

Kyle: If I could give advice I would say always be willing to listen and learn. Both work hand in hand and can definitely make things easy if you are willing to or difficult if you are not.

Q: Can you talk about a project you recently worked on?

Kyle: It is hard to narrow it down to 1 project. We work on multiple projects daily in many pump related industries and each present their own unique challenges. While everyone is different, they are all rewarding. Whether it be helping a customer out of a jam, providing a much-needed solution to a tough application, or being a part of a large project that may bring much needed amenities to a geographic location we are always happy to help.

Q: Anything else you would like to add?

Kyle: If I could add one thing it would be that at our company our customers are more than just a number. No matter who you are, once you connect with us you are treated with a personal touch all the way through the purchasing process.
We are a family-oriented business and hope that reflects to our customers experiences as well.
