SUMMARY:Efficient Water Management with the New SQE and SQFlex Controllers with Grundfos (webinar)
DESCRIPTION:An NGWA Members Exclusive Webinar Series offering\nJoin Grundfos’ Controls and Digital Solutions Product Manager Steve Frangione for an insightful presentation on the company’s newest pump controllers for groundwater applications\, the CU 202 and CU 302. \nThis presentation will provide a look at the future of water control as he introduces the new CU 202 (SQFlex) and CU 302 (SQE) controllers by Grundfos. These cutting-edge controllers offer versatility for a wide range of water supply applications. With tank level and pressure control\, the CU 202 provides a solar solution for residential or rural applications\, while the CU 302 is primarily used for constant pressure\, making it ideal for residential intake and irrigation. \nDesigned for efficiency\, these controllers work with Grundfos’ high-efficiency SQE and SQFlex pumps\, delivering energy savings. Bluetooth connectivity to the Grundfos Go app makes installation a breeze with its detailed interface and data-logging capability. With pump protection as an added layer of security\, these controllers not only save time for installers but also enhance the value provided to end-users. Remote monitoring with Grundfos Connect will provide assurance that the system is running as intended 24/7. Step into a future of water management that benefits all\, where efficiency\, ease\, and performance converge with Grundfos’ CU 202 and CU 302 controllers. Welcome to a brighter\, more efficient future with Grundfos.

SUMMARY:Hydraulic Institute Learning: Fundamentals of water hammer and surge suppression
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nWaterhammer is a pressure surge in a piping system due to a sudden change in flow. It can occur when the power to driver is lost\, air is expelled from a system\, a valve closes too quickly\, or a check valve slams shut. This webinar will review what can happen as a result of the waterhammer\, some basic physics\, and ways to account for it in your pumping system design. \nLearning Objectives\nUpon successful completion of this webinar\, participants will be able to: \n\nDefine waterhammer terminology.\nIdentify accidents caused by waterhammer.\nDescribe the four stages of waterhammer.\nUnderstand the Joukowsky equation.\nUnderstand the communication time concept.\nIdentify different types of waterhammer.\nSolve fundamental equations.\nUnderstand general principal of operation of a pulsation dampener.\nIdentify the types of dampeners and their pros/cons.\nDescribe configurations and their pros/cons.\nIdentify technical questions answered by waterhammer analysis.\nDescribe the effects of water hammer on pumps and valves.\nExplain transient cavitation.\nDescribe the different methods surge can be suppressed.\n\nPresenters\nTrey Walters\nPresident\nApplied Flow Technology\nTrey Walters is President of Applied Flow Technology. His company develops simulation software for flow and pulsation. Mr. Walters holds both a Bachelor and Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He sits on several standards committees of the Hydraulic Institute and is a Fellow of the ASME. \nAmy Marroquin\nSenior Hydraulic Engineer\nBlacoh\nAmy is a Sr. Hydraulic Engineer for Blacoh Industries\, a certified Women’s Business Enterprise\, and leading manufacturer of pulsation dampeners\, surge suppression and other industrial fluid control products. In this role\, Amy provides training and guidance in the fields of waterhammer and computer surge analysis. She is a Texas A&M engineering graduate with almost 20 years of engineering and management experience. Designs have encompassed numerous piping systems\, pressure vessels and packaged equipment for a broad range of fluid medias including water\, chemical\, hydrocarbons\, natural gas and sour gas. Amy has held leadership roles in several fast faced\, critical projects installed worldwide.
