SUMMARY:Virtual Valve Forum plus Valve Basics
DESCRIPTION:2020 VIRTUAL VALVE FORUM plus VALVE BASICS \nINCLUDES SEVEN LESSONS FROM OUR VALVES 101 COURSE PLUS VIDEO DEMOS! \nFor nearly a dozen years\, VMA has provided its Valve Basics course to thousands of people who are connected to or working in the valve industry and eager to enhance their knowledge: end users\, specifiers\, manufacturers\, distributors\, suppliers and even engineering students via scholarships! \nThis November – in conjunction with the Virtual Valve Forum – VMA presents Virtual Valves 101. Our experienced presenters cover the major valve types\, including linear\, check\, quarter-turn and pressure-relief\, plus actuation basics. In early 2021\, Virtual Valves 201 will be offered for those who want to take the next step in learning about these critical flow control products\, including actuators\, controls\, automation and more. All virtual presentations will include videos to show how products work and to help attendees better understand the concepts being discussed. \nWHO SHOULD ATTEND\nThis course was created specifically for newcomers to the industry so it is ideally suited for recent graduates and engineers in the early stages of their careers. In addition\, those who understand the basics of mechanical valves can expand their knowledge by attending the electric portion of the program. Both courses can be taken\, or attendees can choose to attend one or another. \nAttendees typically include: \n\nA variety of professionals employed at plants and facilities that use or work with valves\, actuators and controls\nMore experienced professionals with knowledge of one specific product type but in need of an overview of the entire spectrum of valves\, actuators and controls.\nNew employees at valve\, actuator and control companies\nPersonnel from EPC or AEC firms who are involved with specifying valves\nDistributors and manufacturers’ reps who sell these products\nCompanies that provide supplies and services to the industry\nAnd anyone who could use a refresher course on valves\, actuators and controls!\n\nThe Valve Basics course has been well-received by upper-level mechanical engineering students who have attended previous seminars. Their participation is made possible by scholarships from association members and others interested in supporting valve training for the next generation. \nSPONSORSHIP INFORMATION\nVMA is developing a sponsorship program so attendees will still be able to learn about new products and services from industry suppliers. This will provide an excellent opportunity for suppliers to “meet” people from across the industry. Because many of our attendees are in the early phases of their careers\, they are typically eager to learn about your products and services! \nQUESTIONS\nPlease contact Abby Brown\, VMA education & training coordinator\, or Judy Tibbs\, VMA director of education.
