SUMMARY:Staying Safe With Proper Heat Exchanger Sealing
DESCRIPTION:Who Should Attend: All Maintenance and Plant / Stationary Engineers \nIn April 2010 a heat exchanger exploded at a refinery in Washington state tragically killing seven people. Some of the tragedy stemmed from root causes in the safe and proper application of gaskets in bolted heat exchanger joints. \nJoin us in this webinar where Ron Frisard\, Chesterton’s Global Product Manager will examine this accident and uncover how improper gaskets in bolted heat exchanger joints played a role in the tragedy. Learn about the technologies\, engineering\, and best practices used for increased safety and enhanced reliability for heat exchangers. \nPresented by: \nRon Frisard\, Global Product Manager \nron.frisard@chesterton.com \nRegister Here!

SUMMARY:Centrifugal Pump Fundamentals
DESCRIPTION:This course provides the student with a thorough understanding of centrifugal pump design\, function and operation. Common process control and performance measurement methods are reviewed\, and the necessary calculations associated with pumping systems are executed and explained. \nCentrifugal pump issues are discussed in the classroom and then reinforced in the laboratories using actual pumps equipped with instruments that indicate flow\, pressure and power consumption as the pumps are operated by the students themselves. 65% classroom\, 35% laboratory. \nSpecific topics include: \n\nPump components and nomenclature.\nPD pumps vs. Centrifugal pumps.\nCentrifugal pump types.\nSystem hydraulics\nCentrifugal pump curves.\nAffinity Laws.\nNPSH and types of cavitation.\nViscosity impact on performance.\nPower\nSpecific Speed\nSuction specific speed.\n\n\nAUDIENCE \nEngineers; rotating equipment specialists; individuals involved in pump sales and service\, and experienced plant maintenance and operational personnel that have a desire to improve their understanding of centrifugal pumps and their proper operation.
