Women In HVACR Becomes AHR Expo’s 35th Endorsing Organization

Women in HVACR has become the 35th Endorsing Organization of the International Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigerating Exposition (AHR Expo), the world’s largest HVACR event.
Dedicated to providing a platform for women to become more successful through strategic networking opportunities with other women in the industry, Women in HVACR (www.womeninhvacr.org), will play a very active role in the 2012 AHR Expo taking place January 23-25 at Chicago’s McCormick Place.  In addition to hosting a booth on the Show floor (#6940), they will present an education session on Tuesday, January 24, entitled “The Destruction of ODS for Carbon Credits – How to turn your used ozone-depleting substances into cash”. They will also host a networking reception on Tuesday evening and hold their Board Meeting on the Sunday before the Show.
“We are delighted to be an official AHR Expo Endorsing Organization, especially since we have been a supporter of the Show for many years,” said Patti Ellingson, incoming WHVACR President.  “As the largest event in the HVACR industry, AHR Expo perfectly aligns with our mission of empowering women to succeed through networking opportunities, mentoring and education.”
Women in HVACR is focused on educating women in the areas of technical issues, industry trends, sales, management and ownership. With over 200 members, it is organized into a number of committees that range from Education and Outreach to Partnership Development. The organization has a Chicago Chapter and plans are underway to launch a Canadian Chapter.
Women in HVACR represents a very important and rapidly growing segment of our industry,” said Clay Stevens, President of International Exposition Company, which produces and manages the AHR Expo.  “We are very pleased that they have become an Endorsing Organization and will be conducting a very valuable educational session at the 2012 Show.”
The other 34 Endorsing Associations supporting AHR Expo address a wide spectrum of the HVACR industry.  A complete list of AHR Expo Endorsing Associations can be viewed at www.ahrexpo.com/forexhibitors/endorsers
The 2012 AHR Expo will feature nearly 2,000 exhibitors from around the world showcasing hundreds and hundreds of innovative new products to over 50,000 attendees and exhibitor personnel. The 2012 AHR Expo is endorsed by the leading HVAC/R industry associations and is co-sponsored by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and the Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI). The Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI) is an honorary sponsor. ASHRAE’s Winter Conference is held concurrently with the AHR Expo each year.
