Coatings have been used in pumps for many years to extend their useful life through the introduction of a sacrificial surface that reduces erosion and corrosion. They have also been proved to reduce net energy consumption through the use of coatings with a low surface energy characteristic that has poor wetting properties which reduces frictional resistance to flow.
So what about Valves? Does the use of coatings in Valves offer similar characteristics as those used in pumps?
I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences in this area!!
