A New Year, a New Experience! My First Time at AHR Expo!

Author: Rebekah Mechtensimer

I was able to attend my first AHR Expo in Chicago this week! The show was zooming with 2,000+ exhibitors and 65,000+ industry professionals. While I visited many booths and spoke to many people, I wanted to share a few of my favorite booths at the show.

The first two are some of our partners. Wilo-USA had a huge booth and my personal favorite display of the show – their sprint car. This was the first thing I saw at their booth, and it drew me right in. They even had the driver of the car, Tommy Nichols, there to chat with the crowd, talk about the car, and explain what he does. Watch the Facebook Live Video!

The second partner booth I enjoyed was Armstrong Fluid Technology. For me, the jaw-dropping elements were more than what was in their booth, but instead what was said in the media announcement they presented Monday evening (watch the video!). One of their Directors, Neil Cooper, discussed with the crowd their global sustainability initiative – which was so EMPOWERING.

A few other exhibitors I enjoyed visiting included Franklin Electric, who had a great booth and an even better message. They have a campaign called True Blue. I learned that this initiative is to show support for their contractors and build partnerships with their customers. They don’t just offer products, but service and training to give back to the people that have given them so much. Previously working for a pump distributor, this resonated with me.

Last, but not least, was the Milwaukee Tool booth, which was like a playground for anyone who enjoys power tools (that’s me!). They had different stations set up where you could get “hands-on” with their products and operate the tools! It was awesome, and a nice break from the show to get your hands a little dirty.

The AHR Expo was great, and I enjoyed learning about new companies and new technologies in the HVACR industry. I’m thankful for the opportunities trade shows give me to grow in my industry knowledge and always with some fun sprinkled in along the way.
